2009 NWTFSS  Smallbore Rifle and Smallbore Pistol Silhouette Championships - June 20 & 21


The Yellowknife Shooting Club will be hosting the 2009 Silhouette Championships.  NWTFSS Affiliated Clubs are asked to extend this invitation to their membership. 

All members are welcome.  

Shooters are encouraged to pre-register with Brent Rausch (867) 920-2612 brausch@ssimicro.com or Scott Cairns (867) 669-9220 cairns@ssimicro.com.  Include: Competitors name, Classes entered, & Shooters Classification if known.  We’ll collect the fees at the range and provide your information package at that time.

Rules:  The competition will be run in accordance with the 2009 NRA Rifle Silhouette Rules and the 2009 IHMSA Rules (commands modified to NRA rifle).  Firearms must be certified prior to competition.  Eye and ear protection and Open Action Indicators are mandatory. 

Classes:  Shooters may register in Smallbore (.22 rimfire) Hunter, Cowboy, Silhouette Rifle Classes and/or any of the Smallbore Pistol/Revolver Classes.

Fees:  Shooters will pay an entry fee of $5 for each firearm or class entered.  Non-members (Guests) of the Yellowknife Shooting Club will also be required to purchase the mandatory $5 competition pass/guest registration.

Late Registration:  will be accepted at the Yellowknife Range, June 20, 2009, 08:00 to 09:30AM.  Equipment will also be certified at this time.

Course of Fire:  40 targets per day, 2 day cumulative score.  Scores will be Classification Handicapped.

Date & Time:  June 20 and 21.

The range will be open for sighting and practice 08:00 – 10:00AM each day.

Competition will begin each day at 10:30AM 

Classification:  Scores will be certified to establish Shooter Classification per the Silhouette Rifle Association of Canada.  Bring your old SRAC Classification Book or NWTFSS Pistol Card if you have one.  New SRAC books are required each year and will be available for purchase, NWTFSS Pistol cards are free.  If you choose not be classified, you will compete as a Master shooter.

Prizes:Undisputed Bragging Rights” for the next year. 

Scores may be used to allocate travel assistance to NWTFSS shooters attending the Canadian Nationals or Provincial Competitions outside of the NWT. 

Section Meeting: The NWTFSS Rifle Section will have a short meeting following the smallbore match on Saturday.  All shooters plan to attend.  Purpose is to select our Directors for 2009/2010.   All shooters are also encouraged to attend the NWTFSS AGM Saturday evening June 20, 8:00 PM at the Shooting Performance Centre – 5121, 51 Street.
